Time Capsule for the Apocalypse

Created for the Galaxy Unknown event held by Meso Creso in 2019 in Washington DC, this recycled-material art installation invited passerby to speak to two “time scientists” from the year 2070 about what present-day choices and happenings are responsible for the documented calamities of the future. These interviews were recorded as audio samples. Afterward, I worked with producer Harun Davood who took these samples and created a musical track.

We released the track back to interviewees and the public exactly one year later in October of 2020 to serve as a time capsule. With its dire predictions ultimately resurfacing in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the effort created a very eerie foreshadowing of future events.
